New Gersey project..
It is with great pleasure that we announce the first in what will no doubt be a series of Gersey side-projects while the band take an extended break.
The first cab off the rank is Bombazine Black, an instrumental band headed by Matt and featuring Taylor Holland from cult Texan indie rockers Monroe Mustang, and Australian actor/writer/musician Jayne Tuttle.
The band are currently in Europe and played their first show last week at the prestigious La Scène Bastille in Paris.
The debut record will be released this year and will feature guest appearances from Toby Martin (Youth Group), Martin Cooke (Gaslight Radio), Miles Browne (Art of Fighting) and D. Bradie & D. Tulen (Gersey). It looks like it will be released in a special limited edition format through a new American label, details to follow shortly.
Australian shows will follow later in the year.
You can hear some tunes at myspace.com/bombazineblack and check out the website at bombazineblack.com.

JULY 12, 2007
Can't believe it's July already. There isn't much to report in the Gersey camp, after a fairly hectic 2006 and 06/07 summer we are taking a break for a little while. I am writing this from Paris and plan to stay here for a bit, and the rest of the lads are getting stuck into a few different projects. We will, though, reconvene toward the end of the year. Til then.. cheers, M

Huge thanks to all of you who ventured into the local hut to check us out at the Big Day Out (& a big shout-out to BDO organisers for having us on as well).
The Melbourne event was particularly cracking. Really enjoyed the Kasabian show & even the main stage players were impressive.
On the local front, Expatriate & You Am I seemed to have great days out. The latter in Sydney, were a stand-out by a mile... Tim Rogers was in exceptional form, as was messr. Tulen, dishing out bear hugs during the sublime 'Damage' & 'How Much Is Enough'.
See you at the Laneway festivals at the end of the month. DB
